Simon's Story

In our 2D Animation and Asset Production class, we were told from the beginning of the class that we would be making a final animation that would involve a character we would be designing over the semester. Being someone who isn't very artistic I originally didn't look forward to the project.

We were given the task of creating a character and a back story for them. Throughout the class we revisited our character, creating a GUI for their animations, as seen above. We eventually put them, along with other created assets into a flash game.

Then we came to the final animation. I decided to do a sort of intro to a game surrounding Simon and his motivations to slay ogres. As the project went on, I came to really enjoy the process of creating and designing a character. He was my creation, and I am proud of him. For the final, we had to create a 30 second animation focused around this character. I ended up going over that time 20 seconds, and ended up with 1400 frames of animation. Below is the final animation.
